Attorney General Reveals Probe into President's Opponents and Epstein Links

On Friday, the Attorney General designated Jay Clayton to lead an probe into political adversaries of the President and their relationships with Jeffrey Epstein. This action came just after Trump ordered her to initiate the probe.

During an announcement, the Attorney General highlighted Jay Clayton as “a highly skilled and reliable legal expert”. She remarked, “This case will be addressed with speed and honesty to ensure public transparency.”

This action contrasts with a recent memorandum from federal authorities which declared that documents related to Epstein lacked grounds for additional investigations. According to the memo, authorities “lacked sufficient evidence to pursue cases against other parties.”

The President Calls for Scrutiny of Political Opponents in the Epstein Case

This news comes as growing demands from Trump on congressional Republicans to resist the full release of files concerning Epstein ahead of an upcoming House vote in the coming days. Many Republicans are expected to back the disclosure.

Recently released emails from Jeffrey Epstein have highlighted the president’s previous connections with the convicted criminal, revealing information that he knew more about Epstein’s conduct than he has previously let on.

On Friday, the President announced he would ask the Department of Justice to examine connections between Epstein and Democratic figures, specifically naming Bill Clinton, Larry Summers and Reid Hoffman. Paradoxically, he also referred to the “Epstein situation” as a “scam”.
