Prolific writer for children and TV personality David Walliams is no longer with his longtime publishing house, according to an announcement.

An official for the publisher commented: "Following a thorough review, and under the leadership of its recently appointed chief executive, HarperCollins UK will not be releasing any new titles by David Walliams."

Media sources suggest that the decision was made after an inquiry regarding allegations of conduct deemed unsuitable directed at women.

The firm did not confirm the motivations for this action, stating: "We do not comment on confidential company decisions."

An Illustrious Writing Journey

Walliams stands as a most successful children's authors, having sold in excess of 60 million copies globally in dozens of tongues.

His first children's book, *The Boy in the Dress*, was published by HarperCollins back in 2008.

A number of his titles, such as *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have subsequently been turned into small-screen adaptations.

To date, he has released over four dozen titles combined, encompassing a festive story titled *Santa & Son*, which came out under HarperCollins in October.

A Dual Career

His initial claim to fame came on the TV sketch series *Little Britain* and has additionally received National Television Awards for his work as a judge on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He received an OBE several years ago for his services to the charitable sector and arts community.

The publisher's decision comes after the appointment of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's freshly installed boss in October.
