Disaster Hits as Accidental Detonation at Police Station in Kashmir Region Under Indian Control Results in Nine Deaths
A devastating explosion at a police station in the Kashmir region under Indian control has led to the fatalities of nine individuals and harm to thirty-two additional people, according to authority reports.
The event took place when a stockpile of impounded blast substances inadvertently exploded during processing activities.

The blast occurred on Friday evening at the Nowgam security post, where explosive materials confiscated in the Faridabad area in the northern territory of Haryana were being held provisionally.
Regional security director announced that the explosives were pending technical investigation when a "extremely tragic" incident during handling resulted in their explosion at approximately 23:20 in the evening.

Security forces confirmed that this was an "accidental detonation" and as opposed to a terrorist attack. "Alternative theories regarding the reason of this occurrence is unnecessary," highlighted the security director during a press briefing.
The police station endured severe damage from the explosion, with neighboring structures also being impacted by the strong explosion.
Aftermath and Victims
Several automobiles were "engulfed in flames and reduced to charred husks, with debris scattered across the location," according to authority statements.
"The intensity of the explosion was so powerful that some human remains were found in nearby houses, approximately 100-200 metres away the police station," mentioned an official source.
Most of the casualties were police officers, along with forensic personnel, two investigative imaging experts, and a tailor who was present with the personnel.
Administration Response
The area's Administrative Head expressed condolences and confirmed that an inquiry had been ordered into the catastrophic occurrence.
"I have ordered a probe to ascertain the origin of the unintentional blast. Extremely pained by the fatalities of important persons due to exceptionally devastating inadvertent detonation at Nowgam police station in the Srinagar area. My condolences to the mourning loved ones. I pray for rapid recuperation of the harmed," wrote the official on online channels.
