The Streaming Platform to Bring a Far Cry TV Series from the Producers of the Alien Series and It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.
The latest Far Cry game that gamers dived into was Far Cry 6, that featured Giancarlo Esposito as the villain, Antón, and came out during October 6, 2021. Throughout the franchise, it is famous for celebrating violence and insanity with similar enthusiasm, all while weaving gripping, politically driven narratives. It’s no surprise that FX's new order for a Far Cry limited-run show pulled in two producers whose projects have embodied all of those things.
Show Details
Based on Ubisoft's successful video game series, the limited anthology series will be available on Hulu and is being made by FX Productions. The anthology will also parallel the video games' format by having a new backdrop and cast of characters in every instalment.
Executive Team
Rob Mac, producer of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and Noah Hawley, the talent behind FX's Alien: Earth and Fargo, will work as showrunners on the series via their labels, More Better Productions for Mac, and 26 Keys for Hawley. They will be joined by Emilia Serrano for 26 Keys, Nick Frenkel for 3 Arts, Jackie Cohn for More Better Productions, John Campisi, Gerard Guillemot, Margaret Boykin, and Austin Dill for Ubisoft Film & Television.
We’ve shared magnificent collaborations with Rob Mac and Noah Hawley for a combined six series and 32 seasons of television, and we couldn’t be more excited that they are joining forces for Far Cry,” commented Nick Grad, President, FX Entertainment, in a statement. “I have no doubt that they will tell this story in a way that is innovative, compelling, and extremely entertaining. We also want to acknowledge our associates at Ubisoft for placing confidence in us with this beloved property.”
Cast and Future Plans
Mac will also star in the show, but currently, we are unsure of what role that may be. Hawley's Alien: Earth was just renewed for a second instalment, with FX and Disney signing a new comprehensive agreement with the creator.
“Being able to collaborate with Noah Hawley is a dream realized,” said Rob Mac. “Ubisoft has been incredibly accommodating, placing faith in us with one of the most famous video-game universes ever created. And through it all, my FX partners continues to lift me up with their ongoing trust and backing.”
“What I love about the Far Cry game collection is that it’s an anthology series. Each game is a interpretation of a theme, the same way each season of Fargo is a version on a premise,” said Hawley. “To create a epic action show that can evolve from one instalment to the next, while always examining the nature of society through this multifaceted and turbulent viewpoint, is a dream come true. I’m thrilled to partner with Rob and present our common bold, daring style to the audience.”
A release window for when we can anticipate the new Far Cry show has remains undisclosed. The series will be available on Hulu in the United States and on Disney Plus globally.
