Trevoh Chalobah Set to Replace Guehi in Three Lions Selection
Trevoh Chalobah followed his sibling Nathaniel in representing England, becoming the twenty-first pair of siblings to be selected for the national team.
The Chelsea defender is expected to be added to the Three Lions selection to replace injured Crystal Palace centre-back Marc Guehi.
The 26-year-old footballer is set to meet up with the team for England's final World Cup qualifiers against Albania and Serbia, although it has still not been made public.
The Three Lions have already qualified for next summer's World Cup.
Chalobah earned his maiden selection under England manager Thomas Tuchel in May and then played his first game against Senegal.
In September, Tuchel said Chalobah was unfortunate to be omitted from the squad for qualifying games against Andorra and Serbia, and additionally did not select him for the following October fixtures.
Tuchel has been an important presence in Chalobah's progress, having given him his Chelsea first appearance in the year 2021.
Chalobah has appeared in all but four matches for Chelsea in the current campaign, with the club occupying third spot in the Premier League, in the EFL Cup quarter-finals and in the league phase of the Champions League.
Guehi suffered a foot injury in Crystal Palace's Europa Conference League victory over AZ Alkmaar recently.
There are expected to be additional inclusions to the squad. Newcastle boss Eddie Howe has confirmed that both attacker Anthony Gordon (hip) and goalkeeper Nick Pope (concussion symptoms) will withdraw from the national team.
