Trump's Organization Sought to Bring In Nearly 200 Workers on Visas in 2025

Donald Trump’s family business increased its hiring of overseas employees on temporary visas this period, even as his government was placing obstacles for other businesses attempting to do the identical, a report published Thursday claimed.

Based on information from the US Department of Labor, the Trump Organization aimed to bring in at least 184 foreign workers in 2025 for temporary positions at the former president’s Florida property, two golf clubs and his winery in Virginia.

The number of requests for temporary work visas covering staff including waitstaff, office assistants, housekeepers, culinary employees and agricultural laborers was the record filed by the organization, and up from over 120 in 2021, when Trump’s first term ended.

It was also the fifth time in a decade that Trump had attempted to hire more than 100 overseas workers for seasonal jobs at his Florida resort, according to available data.

The revelation coincides with a tightening on immigration laws by his government that has involved the implementation of a $100,000 fee on skilled worker visas; increased review of the actions of the 55 million people who already hold US visas; and tighter regulations for international scholars and journalists.

In total, the Trump Organization sought to employ 566 overseas workers over the period Trump has been in the White House, from 2017 to 2021 and during 2025.

Significantly, the former president was criticized by some in the Republican party this week for comments justifying the need for overseas employees when a company was unable to find people with “specific talents” to occupy particular roles.

“You can’t just say a nation is entering, going to invest $10bn to build a plant, and going to take people off an unemployment line who have been unemployed in five years, and they’re going to start making their missiles. It doesn’t work that effectively,” he stated to a interviewer after she suggested that overseas employees undercut the pay of American employees.

The White House declined a inquiry for response, and the Trump Organization did not immediately respond to an inquiry.
